Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a facial exfoliating treatment that removes dead dehydrated skin cells and fine vellus hair to reveal a smoother, fresher brighter complexion.
The Dermaplaning facial is hugely popular, it involves running a small, sterile blade over the face and neck. As it removes dead skin the skin responds by producing new skin cells, speeding up cellar turnover making this treatment beneficial for ageing, dull and dehydrated skin.
The blade is used on cleansed dry skin for regular dermaplaning however for more sensitised or very dry skin types an organic cold pressed rosehip oil is added to the skin before dermaplaning to reduce the abrasive effect, hydrate, protect and infuse the skin.
Dermaplaning is also used to help prepare the skin for chemical peel and skin needling treatments as it is more effective combing the treatment benefits.
Dermaplaning also allows for a greater penetration of skincare products and helps to create a flawless smooth base for make-up application.

As there are no contraindications, Dermaplaning is ideal for dry, dehydrated and dull skin. With no downtime the skin is instantly brighter, smoother and glowing.

Dermaplaning FAQ's & Advice
Does the treatment hurt?
No, you may experience a slight tingling sensation when skincare products are applied to the skin immediately after the treatment.
Will my hair grow back thicker?
No, the hair will grow back the same texture and colour it was before treatment, as vellus hair on the face is different to body hair however you may notice the hair regrowth more as you have become used to not having it on your skin.
Is dermaplaning safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women?
Yes! It is the best and only skin exfoliation option for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Will I have down time?
In some cases there may be a slight red or pinkish appearance to the skinn, a tinted SPF can be applied to minimise the redness. The skin can feel slightly fragile for the first 3 days. For spot prone skin types you may experience a mild break out as the skin settles and clears, we advise combining dermaplaning with LED ligh therapy to mimise this and recommend at least 24Hs without make up.
